Shopping in Greece

Athens: Shop along Ermou, Kolonaki and Voukourestiou streets at Plaka for souvenirs, clothes and jewellery.
Mykonos: Shop for designer labels, leather goods, jewellery, handmade accessories and local art along quaint Mykonian passages.
Santorini: Shopping in Santorini can be done mostly in Fira and Oia, with clothes, shoes, jewellery, books, accessories, souvenirs and local produce sich as wine, cheese and fava beans.


Athens: The 360 cocktail bar offers drinks with a spectacular view of the entire city. Vrettos, located in Plaka offers all kinds of Ouzo, the national drink, with walls lined with different brands.

Carnival (mid-January to late February or early March): See costume parades, colourful floats, feasting and traditional dancing go on till the first day of Lent, when families go on picnics and fly kites.
Hellenic Festival ( June through August): Local and international music, dance and drama is staged at the ancient Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, with the Acropolis as a backdrop.
August Moon Festival (August): The brightest and most beautiful moon of the year inspires special nighttime events and parties all over Greece. In Athens, the Acropolis and other monuments host free moonlit performances of theatre and dance.
