Shopping in Kumarakom

Kumarakom is one of the hottest spots for shopping in Kerala. Here, you can find an abundance of aromatic spices and handicraft items. The list of handicrafts found here include Kerala silk sarees, metal-ware, camel-bone carvings, wood carvings, articles made of coconut shell, bamboo and cane, embroidered screw-pine (pandanas palm) mats and grass mats. You can also grab a good deal on antique items, ready-made garments, and ethnic hand-woven textiles.

When it comes to nightlife, Kumarakom has an abundance of bars and restaurants. Two of the most famous hangouts here are the Trunk Call Bar and Marquees. Both of these places boast of an electric ambiance, good music and mouth-watering cuisine. So if are looking for a night out with your girls, these are the best options. If you want something offbeat, or something more traditional, head out for a Kathakali or Kalaripayattu show.
